DENVER (KDVR) — The suspect in a shooting at Colorado's Evergreen High School on Wednesday died of self-inflicted injuries at the hospital, according to officials, leaving two other students injured.

Class was canceled both Thursday and Friday in light of the shooting.

Jefferson County authorities reported that at about 12:24 p.m., there were reports of an “active assailant” near the school. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press conference that three students were shot at the school and taken to CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.

As of Thursday morning, one student remained at the hospital in critical condition while a second student with non-life-threatening injuries was no longer under hospital care, according to Saint Anthony Hospital Trauma Medical D
