The Boston Celtics made some tough decisions this offseason by trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to help them get under the second apron.
For Paul Pierce , he believes the moves were going to happen regardless of last year’s playoffs outcome. But Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury suffered in Game 4 might have eased the decision to move on from two people who helped lift Boston to a title in 2024-25.
“Whether he’s hurt or not, I think they would have had to still make these decisions‚" the Celtics legend told Heavy’s Steve Bulpett . “But I do think it made it easier to make them. Like, let’s say Jayson’s healthy and they won the championship. Then if you break it up, it’s like, what are we doing? So I think it made it easier to make those moves with Jrue and Porzingis
