Muskogee's veterans hospital is on divert Thursday because of a water outage at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center.

With limited water capacity, the hospital cannot ensure safe patient care, officials said in a news release dated Sept. 11.

The hospital will not accept new admissions during the diversion period. Officials have not yet responded to an inquiry about the projected length of the water service outage or diversion.

“We understand the impact this decision may have on our veterans and their families,” Executive Director Kimberly Denning said in the release. “We are committed to ensuring that all veterans receive the care they need and will continue working with the City of Muskogee to facilitate this process."
