The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday for the 12th time in 13 days, increasing 1.3 cents to $4.693, its highest amount since June 9.

The average price has risen 7.9 cents over the past 13 days, including four-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose three consecutive days, dropped two-tenths of a cent Sept. 2 and resumed increasing Sept. 3.

The average price is 5.2 cents more than one week ago, 22.4 cents higher than one month ago and 7.8 cents above what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.80 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
