BOARDMAN Students at Stadium Drive Elementary School gathered on the 24th anniversary of the deadly September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93.
More than 350 students from grades K-3 gathered outside the school for a presentation from Boardman Township Fire Chief Mark Pitzer, who talked about the bravery of first responders including firefighters, police officers and EMS workers.
The students also planted a tree near the playground as part of the Patriot Day ceremony and the Boardman Pep Band provided music.
