SWARTZ CREEK, MI -- Police from multiple departments have closed Miller Road west of the South Dye Road intersection on Thursday morning.
There is a large police presence about a quarter-mile west of the closed intersection.
Michigan State Police confirmed the law enforcement agency is assisting the Metro Police Authority of Genesee County as well as a Genesee County court officer at the scene.
Swartz Creek Community Schools announced at 10:36 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, that the police situation has been contained.
Morrish and Elms elementaries originally entered shelter-in-place protocols.
All normal school operations have resumed.
