GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A shelter-in-place order has been issued for Stockton University's Galloway campus Thursday due to police activity, according to the school .

"If outside, seek shelter indoors. Remain inside for your safety," according to a statement on the school's website. "Do not exit until Stockton Police issues all-clear."

While no reason was given for the order, police are investigating near Jimmie Leeds Road and Redwood Avenue, according to a post on the department's Facebook page. The intersection is across from the main entrance to the school.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
