EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard is scheduled to get a new, $61 million maintenance hangar under the National Defense Authorization Act, according to a statement from U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-2nd.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed its version of the fiscal 2026 defense bill Wednesday. The bill authorizes $848 billion in spending. The Senate still must pass its version.
The new hangar would allow the 177th to host the next generation of fighter jets, including the F-35 or F-15EX, Van Drew said in a statement.
