Stan Lee Cross, 49, accused of the first degree murder of Wetaskiwin woman Twyla Evans six years ago, is set to enter his election and plea on Sept. 16 at the Wetaskiwin courthouse.
Evans was reported missing in September, 2019. Her remains have yet to be located.
Cross was arrested June 20, 2025 and charged with her murder.
He was scheduled to enter his plea on July 31, but the matter was adjourned for his defence to obtain and review disclosure from the prosecution.

Maskwacis resident Chervaine Dean Saddleback, 25, charged with second degree murder, has been committed to stand trial.
A preliminary hearing held on July 29, 2025 at the Wetaskiwin Court of King's Bench determined there was enough evidence for the case to go forward.
