A Drayton Valley resident was arrested for uttering threats and theft after the RCMP responded to a firearms complaint on Sept. 11.
at around 8:45 a.m., the detachment received a report that a man had threatened to kill a member of the public as well as RCMP members should they get involved.
Drayton Valley RCMP confirmed the suspect had access to firearms and ensured that the victim was somewhere safe. Warrants were obtained and the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), as well as Police Dog Services (PDS), were called in to assist.
The suspect had fled the scene before the warrants were carried out and RCMP attempted to located him.
