On September 11, around 8:45 a.m., Drayton Valley RCMP received a report regarding a man who threatened to kill a member of the public as well as RCMP members should they get involved.

Drayton Valley RCMP obtained information confirming that the suspect had access to firearms and ensured that the victim was somewhere safe.

Warrants were obtained and Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), as well as Police Dog Services (PDS), were called in to assist.

Prior to the execution of the warrants, the suspect fled the scene.

Attempts to locate the suspect were conducted by Drayton Valley RCMP, Alberta RMCP ERT and PDS.

While the search was ongoing, Wetaskiwin RCMP located a suspicious vehicle, later discovered to be stolen.
