On September 11 at around 8:45 a.m., Drayton Valley RCMP received a report of a man who allegedly threatened to kill a member of the public, alongside any police officers who got in the way of him doing so. Through their investigation, the RCMP confirmed that the suspect had access to firearms and ensured that the victim was somewhere safe.
Warrants were obtained by the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, as well as the Police Dog Services being called into assist.
Prior to the execution of the warrants, the suspect fled the scene. Attempts to locate him were conducted by Drayton Valley RCMP, Alberta RCMP and the Police Dog Service.
