BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Southern University announced its lockdown has been lifted after a potential threat was made to multiple HBCUs across the country.
According to the university, effective immediately, all campus activities and classes are canceled on Thursday, September 11, Friday, September 12, and through the weekend.
Students who live off campus and non-essential employees should evacuate the campus. Those who live on campus will be given instructions and accommodations.
University officials stated that this includes the entire Baton Rouge landmass, encompassing the Southern University Law Center, the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, and the Southern University Laboratory School.
