DULUTH — Moorhead native Max Cullen announced his commitment to Minnesota Duluth via Instagram on Wednesday night.
The 16-year-old forward is entering his junior season at Moorhead High School after helping the Spuds win a Minnesota boys hockey state championship in Class AA last season.

The 6-foot-1, 165-pound Cullen had 11 goals and 17 assists as a sophomore last season — his first on varsity — for the state champion Spuds. He had 46 goals and 35 assists in 59 games the year before playing AA Bantam hockey in Moorhead.
Cullen’s USHL rights are owned by the Muskegon Lumberjacks, who selected him in the eighth round of the league’s future’s draft in 2024.
