Many people attending Thursday’s Clinton Township 9/11 Ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery remembered it was a blue sky day like today 24 years ago when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City.
“I was working in the basement of our new house being built,” said Bob Cannon, who was the Clinton Township supervisor at the time.
Shortly after everyone in America had reached their place of work or school or normal weekly destination reports started coming in about a plane crashing into one of the towers, which was initially thought to be an accident until a second plane crashed into another tower immediately afterwards. It some communities voters were heading to the polls.
It was then Clinton Township’s Deputy Fire Chief Paul Brower informed Cannon of the tragedy that was un
