Kelowna is getting an IKEA store - sort of.

The company will open a ‘Plan and Order Point’ at 1500 Banks Road in the Central Park Power Centre next spring.

The stores offer customers one-on-one appointments with IKEA staff to plan, design, and purchase home furnishing solutions for any room in the home, such as kitchen renovations or bedroom storage systems.

Once orders have been placed, shipment will be directly to the customer’s home, or the Kelowna store for pick-up.

When it opens, the store will also carry “a limited number of products from the IKEA range (excluding food - sorry, no meatballs( for immediate purchase and takeaway,” per a company release issued this week.
