OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - One Owensboro teacher’s remarks on social media have led to a lot of controversy.

Owensboro Public Schools officials say the teacher made statements online after Charlie Kirk was assassinated Wednesday afternoon at Utah Valley University.

Although what exactly the teacher said is unconfirmed, the school district says they are aware of the comments made on social media.

“Our district is aware of social media posts from a district employee circulating online regarding the tragedy that took place yesterday in Orem, Utah,” said the district’s public information officer, Jared Revlett. “Words cannot express our deep sympathy for those who have been impacted by such a terrible act.”
