NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - The U.S Environmental Protection Agency and local authorities are continuing to clean residences and public spaces after the chemical fire in Newburgh.

According to today’s press release, EPA has assessed and cleaned 22 residential and public spaces.

They say this now makes the total properties cleared to 44.

Teams are also continuing to clean up Vann Park by wiping hard surfaces and vacuuming ash.

The Warrick County Health Department says while this work continues, the park will remain closed, including the baseball and softball fields, walking trails, fishing pond and Rivertown Pickleball Court.
