HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Officials with Owensboro Public Schools say they are looking into social media posts made by a district employee about the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

According to a statement from the school district, officials can not comment on personnel matters, but they are looking into the posts and will handle the situation in accordance with district policy. The school district also expressed sympathy for those impacted by the shooting.

The school district did not name the employee in their statement, however screenshots of posts circulating on Facebook appear to show an employee with the district saying that the shooting was caused by Kirk's words.
