The nationally third-ranked Western Mustangs have given up the most points in the Ontario university football conference through three weeks. It hasn’t burned them yet since they’re still undefeated, but they will try to whittle down that 34.7 points-per-game-against average when they face Carleton Saturday afternoon in Ottawa.
“We’re not good enough on special teams right now and have to play better defensively,” Western head coach Greg Marshall said after the team allowed four passing touchdowns to Ottawa last weekend. “If we’re going to be as good as we hope to be, we need to play better than that.”
