AUSTIN (KXAN) -- On Tuesday, Kyle's $3.14 Uber rideshare program celebrated its 5-year anniversary, which also kicked off the city's review of the program.
The rideshare program's review will include looking at long-term recommendations on how best to provide services to the Kyle community for the next five years, according to the press release.
The city said the program has grown from just under 4,000 trips in 2021 to nearly 60,000 trips in 2024.
“The Uber Kyle $3.14 program has been a game-changer for Kyle, but as our city grows so must the program,” Director of Transportation and Public Works Mike Trimble said in the release. “This review is about making sure we continue to provide affordable, reliable rides while planning for the future.”
