A 25-year-old Qualicum Beach man lost his Porsche 718 GT4 RS for seven days after a B.C. Highway Patrol stop at Nanoose Bay when he was clocked travelling 144 km/h in a 90km/h zone.

On Sept. 3, police saw the black Porsche speed away from two motorcycles that were travelling over the 90km/h limit on the Island Highway near Hillview Road.

Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said in a release had the driver showed a little restraint, it might have been the motorcycles that were ticketed and impounded.

“Instead, this driver raced straight into the hassle and lost the opportunity of watching his expensive car get impounded for seven days. Whatever his reason for buying that car, it probably wasn’t to watch it sit in an impound lot while he takes Uber.”
