CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( WBTV /Gray News) - A Carolina Panthers employee was reportedly fired for a social media post about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Rock, a football communications coordinator with the team, was no longer working as of Thursday.
According to multiple screenshots circulating on social media, Rock appeared to have posted about Kirk’s murder just hours after it happened on Wednesday.
“Why are y’all sad? Your man said it was worth it ...” Rock reportedly shared in one of his posts and included a photo of Kirk.
In another post, Rock allegedly referenced the Wu-Tang Clan song “Protect Ya Neck.”
On Thursday morning, the Panthers tweeted about the situation, saying the worker’s post in question does not represent the team.
