WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Thursday marked 24 years since the deadly terror attacks of 9/11. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives and over 200 of those were from Massachusetts.

Three Westfield natives lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and the city has honored their memory every year since. A wreath laying ceremony took place Thursday morning at the city’s 9/11 monument, located at the head of North Elm Street in Westfield. Sally Trant lost her brother, Dan Trant, on that fateful day in 2001. Trant told us her brother was working for Canter Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of the north tower and said no one who was working for Canter Fitzgerald that day was found alive.
