Nearly 4,000 democrats are anticipated to attend this state convention at the MassMutual Center on Saturday. With a trend of political violence nationwide, especially after Wednesday’s tragedy out of Utah, security measures are being ramped up right here in Springfield to prepare for and prevent an incident related to political violence.

This weekend’s event will not only draw in a large crowd, but it will also feature household names like Governor Maura Healey, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, and Congressman Richard Neal.
