Detroit police said they are investigating a reported bomb threat in the city’s Corktown neighborhood on Thursday, Sept. 11.

The reported threat prompted a large police and fire presence in the area of Michigan Avenue and Sixth Street on Thursday afternoon, which has since been cleared, authorities confirmed around 3:30 p.m.

Most Holy Trinity School, located nearby at Labrosse and Sixth streets, notified parents of the activity and said police asked the school to temporarily keep its students indoors.

"Our normal dismissal procedure may be impacted," the school told parents in an email. "The children are all safe and secure. There is no threat of any kind against the school."

Police did not immediately provide additional details.

This is a developing story.
