BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - The City of Dickinson is alerting residents and businesses to a scam involving fake invoices falsely claiming to be from the Planning & Zoning Commission.

According to the Dickinson Police Department, several individuals have reported receiving documents requesting large payments—sometimes as high as $4,000—for supposed application and filing fees, zoning reviews, and administrative services. The invoices include forged names of city staff and appear to be official.

Anyone who receives such an invoice is urged not to send money.
