A new video has emerged showing a suspect fleeing from a rooftop shortly after a shooting incident involving Charlie Kirk. The footage, posted online by Dustin Ivers, captures a moment of panic among a crowd of several thousand at Utah Valley University’s Hall of Flags during Kirk’s ‘The American Comeback Tour.’ In the four-second clip, a figure is briefly seen escaping from a distant rooftop as chaos unfolds below.

The suspect, who remains unidentified and at large, is believed to be of college age. The FBI in Salt Lake City released images of a “person of interest” on Thursday. This individual was described as a male wearing a black baseball cap and sunglasses.

While law enforcement has not confirmed the exact location of the gunfire, university officials indicated in a press conference that the shot was likely fired from the Losee Student Success Center. This building is approximately 350 feet from where Kirk was speaking under a tent.

Drone footage captured by an independent journalist on Thursday shows police tape on one of the roofs of the Losee building. Another video, recorded just before the shooting, appears to show someone lying prone on the roof. The individual filming zooms in on the figure and comments, “So there’s somebody on the roof right there,” suggesting that the person had moved from one side of the building to the other. This video has reportedly been obtained by the FBI as part of their investigation.

Authorities stated they have tracked the suspect’s movements from the moment he arrived on campus, through the stairwells, and up to the roof where the shot was believed to have been fired. After the incident, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bowles confirmed that the suspect jumped from the roof and fled the scene.

Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason noted that the suspect “blended in well with a college institution,” emphasizing that he appears to be of college age. Additionally, law enforcement has recovered a high-powered, bolt-action rifle in a wooded area where the suspect escaped. Reports indicate that the weapon contained ammunition engraved with messages related to transgender and antifascist themes.
