Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed deep sorrow over the death of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed at an event in Utah on Wednesday. Netanyahu described Kirk as a “lion-hearted friend of Israel” who was “murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom.” He noted that Kirk “fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization,” adding that he had spoken with Kirk just two weeks prior and had invited him to visit Israel, a trip that will now never happen.

Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, called Kirk, 31, “a friend and an exceptional leader.” He emphasized that Kirk’s “unique voice influenced many young people in the United States and left a lasting mark on an entire generation.”

Kirk was in Utah as part of an “American Comeback” campus tour organized by Turning Point, where he engaged with students and participated in debates. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) remarked on the tragedy, stating, “There is a pervasive sickness that is poisoning America.” He praised Kirk for engaging in thoughtful political discourse while rejecting violence, calling him foundational to President Trump’s victory. Graham urged the public to “pray for Charlie’s wife, Erika, and their two young children during this time of immense loss.”

The American Jewish Committee expressed its heartbreak and outrage over Kirk’s murder, labeling it a “horrific act of senseless violence.” Morton A. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America, remembered Kirk as “a great man, a personal friend and an ally who loved Israel and the Jewish people.” Klein shared memories of walking in Jerusalem with Kirk and conducting an in-depth interview on his radio show, where they discussed the Arab-Islamist conflict against Israel. He noted that Kirk was excited to speak at the upcoming ZOA national gala.

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) expressed shock and grief over Kirk’s death, stating, “Political violence has no place in this country.” They condemned the act, asserting that “there is no reason, no excuse, no political view, no issue that justifies violence against a fellow American.” The RJC highlighted Kirk’s role as a “fearless advocate for freedom” and a supporter of Israel, emphasizing that he was killed while engaging with the next generation of American leaders.

StandWithUs also voiced its shock and dismay, praising Kirk’s dedication to Israel and his opposition to antisemitism. They called for a commitment to protect free speech, stating, “The answer to controversial ideas and partisan political disagreements is debate, not violence.”

The Orthodox Union condemned the murder as a “horrific act of political violence,” while the Coalition for Jewish Values stated that the killing “was not senseless. It was a deliberate act.” The widespread reactions reflect the significant impact Kirk had on his community and the political landscape.
