The Royal British Legion has paid touching tribute to a former soldier killed in a motorbike crash, describing him as a 'true stalwart' and 'an inspiration to everyone'.

Paul Wadsworth, 46, died when a motorbike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car in Failsworth, Oldham , on Tuesday afternoon.

A father-of-two, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene on Partington Street in Failsworth.

Mr Wadsworth, who worked in event security, served with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for seven years and completed tours of duty in Kosovo and Bosnia. He was a well-known and respected supporter of the Royal British Legion in Failsworth, and was a branch chairman.
