A New Orleans Fire Department employee could face discipline after she appeared to celebrate the assassination of conservative activist and podcaster Charlie Kirk on social media, NOFD officials announced Thursday.
In a prepared statement, NOFD Superintendent Roman Nelson called the comment "unacceptable" and said the department had launched an administrative review.
"The men and women of the NOFD are entrusted with the responsibility of serving and protecting all members of our community with professionalism, integrity and respect," Nelson said. "Any actions or words that undermine that trust, or promote division or insensitivity, are taken very seriously."
