For the first time, Rancho Cucamonga’s Spagnolo 9/11 Memorial Park hosted the city’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

The ribbon-cutting and park opening coincided with the day of remembrance, honoring the 2,977 killed Sept. 11, 2001 . The emotional Thursday Sept. 11, event included speeches, music, tears and the chance for guests to examine fragments from Flight 93, limestone from the Pentagon and steel from the World Trade Center.
It was among many events across the Inland Empire to commemorate 9/11.
The Rancho Cucamonga park has been in the works for years, and in 2025, the city could finally hold the ceremony in what will become its permanent location.
