A Louisiana man is seeking more than $1 million in a federal lawsuit against Harris County and several law enforcement officers from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, accusing them of repeatedly assaulting him after a low-speed pursuit in 2023 during which he claims to have been unconscious.

Trinidad Cutshall, 44, filed the suit in June against nine deputies, three sergeants and a lieutenant, some of whom were identified only with a first initial and last name. The case is now before the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals after a federal judge in Houston rejected several of the law enforcement officers' requests to dismiss the lawsuit, prompting them to appeal.
