Naked cyclists will ride through Houston's East Downtown on Saturday evening as part of a demonstration intended to promote body positivity and encourage cyclist safety.

Organizers encourage participants to go "as bare as you dare."

"The feeling of the wind and sun and exposure on your entire body — it’s really kind of a different feeling," event partner Michael Caughey said. "The nudity is to demonstrate our vulnerability when on a bicycle. Naked is not simply a lack of clothing, it’s the lack of steel protection afforded to drivers of automobiles."

According to state data , 17 cyclists were killed in traffic crashes across Harris County in 2024, including eight in Houston. So far in 2025, 13 cyclists have been killed across the county, including four in Houston.
