An attempt to renovate an old gas station on South Palm Canyon Drive faced a setback this week when the Palm Springs City Council denied an attempt by the developer to circumvent certain requirements in order to start construction.

The project would convert the abandoned gas station into storage for the design business of Joseph Praner, who bought the property in 2020 and has been trying to update it for the last five years.
