BUFFALO, N.Y. — Recent heavy rains and decent rain totals the last few weeks have helped ease the local drought for WNY, and northern PA.
The Severe Drought conditions have ended locally.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor now shows most of Western New York and northern Pennsylvania are in Moderate Drought conditions.

And the rest of Western New York and northern PA has further improved to Abnormally Dry conditions.
Even the western half of Chautauqua county is back to normal, no drought.
