MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Drought conditions have improved in New Hampshire after recent rainfall.

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows that areas of Grafton, Carroll and Coos counties have improved from extreme drought to severe drought.

Overall, the area of the state in extreme drought decreased from more than 53% to just over 37%.

More rainfall moving through New Hampshire on Thursday could help conditions further improve.
