CLEVELAND — The Center for Christian Virtue is moving ahead with its annual gala later this month, but leaders say the event at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower will now be focused on honoring the legacy of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Wednesday.

The gala is one of the group’s largest events of the year and will be held in Cleveland for the third time.

It typically draws faith and political leaders from across the country.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, had been scheduled to deliver the keynote address.

Organizers say the program is being rearranged, with the goal of ensuring the evening reflects his influence — from his national platform to the way he inspired young conservatives to live out their beliefs.
