AKRON, Ohio — Austintown Fitch and St. Vincent-St. Mary have become the latest high schools to back out of scheduled football games against Ursuline amid multiple federal lawsuits against the latter program.
In a statement issued Thursday, St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron confirmed its decision to cancel its varsity game against Ursuline on Oct. 3 as well as a junior varsity matchup on Oct. 4. The varsity contest was scheduled to take place at Green Street Stadium in Akron, and was also slated to be St. V's homecoming game.
