State officials are confident their COVID vaccine guidance will ensure anyone can get a shot, even if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changes its stance.

Commissioners with the Departments of Public Health, Consumer Protection and Insurance said they wanted to provide clarify as pharmacists and doctors wait for guidance from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

The ACIP meets next week, but last month, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), approved shots only for people over 65 and those with certain health conditions.

Connecticut’s guidance is that those facing higher risk should get the vaccine, but anyone should have access.
