TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Earlier Thursday, the Fort Harrison Daughters of the American Revolution presented a large donation of school supplies to the Vigo County School Corporation.

This is all part of the organization's mission to help support education for our youth. The local organization donated supplies, especially things that were needed on some teachers' wishlists. In honor of 9/11, organizers wanted to honor the lives lost, all while making a difference in our local schools.

"Education is one of our missions, along with patriotism," said Mary Creamer of the Fort Harrison Chapter of the DAR. "This kind of combines the two. On September 11th, besides the first responders who were certainly affected, schools were too. So we are thinking of teachers and students."
