INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after an east Indianapolis shooting Friday sent one person to a hospital.

It happened just after 1 a.m. in the 6200 block of East 11th Street , which is just east of Arlington Avenue.

Few details were immediately available, but an IMPD spokesperson said officers responding to a report of a shooting discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police haven't said whether they have identified a suspect in the case, nor whether a motive has been determined.

This is a developing story. It will be updated as additional information is confirmed.
