CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The North Central West Virginia Honor Flight will be departing on a bus trip on Friday to take our local veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the monuments and memorials built in their honor.

The three-day bus trip will allow veterans to get to see more monuments and memorials, while having more time at each stop. Organizers with the Honor Flight are asking for everyone to come out and welcome the veterans back home Sunday evening.

"We invite everybody, organizations, children, adults, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, there is a surprise ceremony that we usually do not have a ceremony, we usually just do a welcome home, but we will have an event upstairs at the VFW for these veterans," Flight Director Billie Jo Claypool said.
