BUFFALO, N.Y. — Outrage is growing on Buffalo’s East Side after a viral video showing what witnesses say was a woman being attacked by workers at Mandella Market.

The video, which went viral overnight, is now "part" of a Buffalo Police investigation and the woman has since filed a police report.

Buffalo Common Council Majority Leader Leah Halton-Pope, who represents the Ellicott District where the market is located, said she has spoken with the store owner, police, and the victim’s family — but questions remain.

“I think there's still more questions than answers on a lot of it,” Halton-Pope said.

The video sparked protests outside the market, and Halton-Pope said the incident underscores long-standing tensions between neighbors and the business.
