GORDON, Georgia — Less than a month after Gordon's Piggly Wiggly closed, residents now have access to groceries again with the opening of B and T's Food Fresh in the same location.

The new full-service grocery store opened last Friday, taking over the former Piggly Wiggly space. B and T's Food Fresh offers fresh produce, a butcher section, mobile coupons, and prepared breakfast and lunch options.

For residents like Barbara Shinholster, who had relied on the Piggly Wiggly for five years by walking to the store, the closure meant depending on rides to travel to Baldwin County's Walmart for groceries. Shinholster visited the new store Thursday to familiarize herself with the layout.
