EUGENE, Ore. - The assassination of Charlie Kirk has left communities across the United States in a state of shock and mourning. Vigils and prayer gatherings have emerged in cities across the country.

Eugene community members are turning to prayer in response to the tragic news.

"When I first heard he was shot, I immediately started praying, then I heard he was dead, and started praying for his family," said Karen Bodner, a member of Lane County Republicans.
