The State of Arizona spent nearly $1.5 million on outside attorneys and expert witnesses to defend itself against a lawsuit brought by the owner of The Cow Palace restaurant, which had to be demolished after a September 2018 flood.
According to records obtained by the Green Valley News, the state paid the law firm of Fennemore Craig $1.14 million and the hydrology firm of West Consultants nearly $248,000 for work on the case. ×
