Local baseball fans were treated to a pair of exhibition games between the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico's most successful franchise and its first U.S.-based team when the Mexican Baseball Fiesta returned to War Memorial Stadium in Nogales last weekend.

The mini-series began Saturday night with the competitive debut of the matter-of-factly-named Tucson Baseball Team, the new incarnation of the Mayos de Navojoa. The Mayos competed in the LMP for more than 60 years before relocating north of the border earlier this year. ×
