NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence battled to a 1-1 deadlock with Jennings County during girls high school soccer action on Thursday.

Kylie Atchison scored BNL’s goal in the first half, giving the Stars the early advantage at the 26:47 mark. The Panthers (0-8-1) recorded the equalizer early in the second at 38:47.

“Our goal in the first half gave us a confidence boost,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “When Jennings County scored, it lit a fire under us to make several great offensive plays. We had several attacks on their goal in the second half and had possession in the box the majority of the half, but couldn’t get one in the back of the net.

“We tested their goalie and she made some great saves. Even though we tied, we played like we wanted to win.”
