California’s wildfire-driven insurance crisis has forced thousands of homeowners onto the costly, limited FAIR Plan, but one San Francisco startup is stepping in with a new approach. Delos Insurance Solutions uses artificial intelligence to analyze wildfire risk with more than 200 factors, often finding homes insurable in areas where major carriers pulled out. Since 2020, Delos has insured about 30,000 homes statewide, sometimes at lower prices and with broader coverage than the FAIR Plan.
